El Trapiche Tour

Come visit El Trapiche, a Costa Rican family run business, where you can enjoy a 2 hour guided tour, the tour begins with a walk through a farm where you can get a glimpse of plantations that grow sugar cane, coffee, and other crops such as bananas, plantains , root vegetables, oranges and more.

During the course of the tour the entire coffee procedure is demonstrated; the drying, grinding, peeling and roasting.

This part of the tour ends with an ox cart ride to the Trapiche where sugar cane is processed. This process begins with grinding sugar cane which turns it into brown sugar.

It is in this same place you will see the "saca de guaro", the liquor that is made from sugar cane and the national liquor.
