For nature lovers, two protected areas on the coast are not to be missed - Cahuita and the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. Cahuita is home to one of the largest coral reefs in the county and has some of the best snorkeling. Go fishing or horseback riding from this beautiful area.

The Afro-Caribbean people, with their unique language, rich culinary traditions and music offer visitors to this area a different experience than what you'll find in the rest of the country.
