Costa Rica South Pacific

Southern Pacific

Known as the “last frontier” in Costa Rica, this is an area packed with flora and fauna, as well as numerous world class beaches and some of the best National Parks in Costa Rica - including the world famous Corcovado National Park.

This part of the country has the added benefit of being a remote location favored by migrating whales, dolphins, and some of the most colorful birds in the world. But just because you're truly getting away from it all doesn't mean that you have to settle for second-rate accommodations! Some of the countries most beautiful and luxurious resorts can be found in the area.

The Southern Pacific Zone includes many diverse regions: world class surfing beaches at Dominical and Pavones, serious diving among the hammerhead and whale sharks around Isla del Coco, amazing National Parks at Corcovado, Ballena & Isla del Cano and some of the country’s best beaches at Drake’s Bay and Playa Zancudo.  Here you’ll find a plethora of different geographic and ecological areas for visitors to explore.  From cloud covered peaks that descend precipitously into fertile, agricultural lowlands and beautiful isolated beaches- the southern Pacific region includes it all- with far less tourists than any other part of Costa Rica!  So take your time to get down here, you never know what you'll discover!

Costa Rica South Pacific Zone includes all these destinations and more!
