Samara Beach

The schools of manta rays and other beautiful fish are well worth seeing.The village at Samara boasts several nice seaside restaurants and bars and even a discotheque located right on the beach.  The main road in Samara leads directly to the beach. The waters here are perfect for beginning surfers and sea kayakers.  Windsurfing and snorkeling are also popular activities in the area.

Transportation to Samara used to be a bit if a chore, but has drastically improved with the construction of the well paved and maintained Road 150 with runs from Nicoya.  There is also a small airstrip in town that makes air travel possible also.  There are also daily busses from San Jose and Liberia.  Playa Samara is about a four hour drive from San Jose. This family friendly, peaceful locale is perfect for those looking for a secluded, relaxing beach vacation!
