In this rustic lodge guests will find 54 rooms with either a double and a single bed or three single beds. All offer peaceful garden views and feature private bathrooms with hot water and ceiling fans to ensure that guests can relax after a hard day’s exploration. There are also 4 superior rooms offering king size beds and more room to really enjoy your vacation. Downstairs Mawamba Lodge recently added a games room with a pool table, darts, foosball and various other activities for the whole family. There is also a gift shop to suit any souvenir needs, from typical tourist products to local craftwork. Interestingly, if you want to learn more about the Tortuguero area, the hotel holds nightly talks in their conference room for guests to discover more about their surroundings.

Lodge Gardens and Tortuguero Beaches

The exotic pool with whirlpool area has a “Red-Eye Tree Frog” project with a range of hammocks in ranchos/palapas for guests to relax in at the end of a long day of exploring. The palm-tree lined beaches that stretch along the coast alongside the Mawamba Lodge, Tortuguero are some of the most pristine in Costa Rica. Although the sea is not deemed safe enough for swimming, you can take a stroll and enjoy the ocean views and beautiful green gardens with a variety of tropical plants.
