Junquillal Activities

Junquillal is a small rural beach town nearby Iguanazul with not much going on; for more action and night life, Tamarindo is an hour away. Its easy to spend your time staring out to sea from above and enjoying the cool breeze and sun at Iguanazul. This place is also ideal for long walks or horse back riding along lonely beaches and coastal estuaries. Monkeys, birds and all sorts of wildlife are noticed while taking a kayak through a mangrove. Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra, meaning Black Beach, are great nearby surfing spots with constant large waves. Fishing tours in the area include in shore fishing, deep sea fishing and sports fishing for dorado, snapper, bill fish, yellow fin tuna, sail fish, wahoo and others. Snorkeling and scuba diving tours can be arranged to see Manta Rays and other flashy marine life near the ocean floor.
