A very special lodge can be found over a lush mountain setting of Costa Rica ending a bumpy 30 minute drive. The Buena Vista Lodge is a rustic eco hotel with clean rooms and horses roaming the green grounds on a stage of pure scenery. It's an hour from Rincon de la Vieja Park's main entrance but its nearby boundary provides a rich spectrum of flora and fauna. The hotel is very basic with no AC, just a strong breeze blowing the coast and cooling off the volcanic slopes that it climbs. The Lodge's area and backdrop is just gorgeous and the Costa Rica wildlife in store is always where you set your senses.

The Buena Vista Lodge is far from any towns so tours and fun are catered to on site by the hotel staff for free or for a fair price. Stress is left out of the lodge where families with young ones or groups of friends will have a calm stay far from the world. It's a working ranch with a croc in a lake and plenty of forest trails to spot monkeys, rabbits, deer, coati and other wildlife while taking a walk. Breakfast comes with each room and meals with juice are served mess hall style while bar drinks are taken near a cliff's border painted by Costa Rica sunsets.

Ecological Tourism

Like no other hotels near Rincon de La Vieja, the Buena Vista Lodge has a quarter mile jungle water slide for awesome Costa Rica fun. Besides the world famous jungle water slide there are 11 platforms with ten cables for zip lining and 16 hanging bridges along tree tops and bird songs. Horse back riding can be arranged for an easy forest stroll or have the pleasure of visiting 3 waterfalls in the area. You can also get to know 20 species of snakes in display and many other types of tree frogs, dart frogs and glass frogs in an area built just for them. And when your body claims a special treat it's time to sink in their Wellness Garden Hot Spring Spa under the forest trees and wildlife.
