Sophisticated Flamingo Beach

Flamingo is located on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, North of the famous Tamarindo Beach. It is considered to be one of the most sophisticated Beaches of Costa Rica! Indeed it has this air of class about it, while the brilliant white beach does not fail to win people over. This beach is very good for swimming, sport fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Flamingo has a lovely little marina, one of the very few of Costa Rica, and this attract the lovers of the sea to come, either because their boat is there, or because a marina is always a pleasant place to be. Boats can be rented also for short trips or sport fishing.

Tours And Activities In And Around Flamingo

Flamingo is conveniently located close to some of the most visited Beaches of Costa Rica, like Tamarindo, a great surf beach with many wonderful restaurants, bars and hotels, Playa Grande, home of the Las Baulas Marina park where the giant Leatherbacks Turtles come to nest, the popular Playas del Coco, and the enchanting Playa Potrero and Sugar Beach, without forgetting to mention the beautifully white Playa Conchal. Flamingo is close to many other National Parks too, and you can enjoy Tours to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, or to the Santa Rosa National Park, Africa Mia, and more. The Catalina Islands are located in the bay in front of Flamingo Beach and are excellent for the observation of the White Tipped Shark when scuba diving. It is widely visited by the expats who live in busier towns and who enjoy the quieter atmosphere of Flamingo. Sailing and going on boat trips are also, of course, favorite occupations by this perfect white sand beach. Sport fishing is very good in Flamingo; the season starts in January right through to April. Marlin, Roosterfish, Yellow Fin Tuna, Snapper and Sailfish are the most common catches.

Flamingo has a great choice of restaurants, clubs, bars and discos, it is however also very close to Tamarindo with its wide arrays of shops and restaurants. This part of Guanacaste is truly luminous, with a magical fusion of old culture and modern tourism.

The wonderful beach of Flamingo is not set apart as being one of the most beautiful of Costa Rica for no reason. Its fine white sand, calm water, marina and picturesque town make it the vacation destination by excellence. It has an idyllic atmosphere that is relaxing and ever so pleasant. It is conveniently close to Liberia and the Daniel Oduber International airport, while it is also easy to get to by road; once you get to Liberia just follow the signs! It is a perfect holiday spot for families with children while couples or single travelers will find it equally welcoming. Flamingo is still considered by many to be the number one Beach of Costa Rica!
