Dominical is the quintessential surfer's beach.  A long brown stretch of sand that runs fromthe village of Dominicalito to the mouth of the Rio Baru, surfers come from all over the world because of the breaks, the reef and the surfer friendly community. This is an area for experienced surfers- the riptides and breaks can be dangerous to the beginner. The area does have several really well known surf schools and the community boasts a number of retired international surfers that have settled here and are active in local businesses and in the area.

A thriving night life and a friendly, slightly offbeat village are also great draw.

 Between the beach at Dominical and the town of San Isidro are the beautiful two tiered waterfalls at Las Cascadas Nauyaca, that can be reached by a four mile horseback ride from then highway.  The secluded swimming hole at the base of the waterfall is the perfect end to a ride through the countryside!
