Exotic Experience at Moana Lodge!
Moana Lodge Hotel Inspection July 26th - 28th, 2010.
We spent a few days at Moana Lodge in Mal Pais Costa Rica. This small hotel is located off the main road on the southern end of town. This area offers a quiet alternative to the busier areas of Santa Teresa. The fact that they are located off the main road really separates you from the noise of the cars and passing ATVS. This is also advantageous in the dry season as the road tends to get a dusty – here you are removed from all that. This lodge has an exotic South African theme and is surrounded by dense rain forest and beautiful gardens, a perfect retreat for honeymooners and couples looking to get away from it all!
The pool here is amazing! Relax and enjoy the water on two swinging beds in the shade. We loved the statues and decorations found throughout the property. The best was Moana Lodge’s on site restaurant, The Papaya Lounge – surely one of the area’s best dining options. The fantastic views here at this open air bar and restaurant are matched only by the fine cuisine. The Papaya Lounge has a Latin theme and you’ll enjoy the tropical rhythms as you watch the sun disappear into the sea. Moana Lodge and the Papaya Lounge, an amazing spot on Costa Rica’s Nicoya peninsula!
